Honbu Dojo, meaning the "head dojo," is the central training hall and the spiritual "home" of our school. Its location is traditionally tied to the current Grand Master of Doshinkan, who holds this lifelong position. Currently, the Honbu Dojo is situated in the picturesque village of Kramsach, nestled among the lakes and mountains of the Austrian Tyrol. Practitioners from all over the world travel there regularly to participate in sessions led by Hanshi Masako Fujimoto-Stock alongside the local student community.
For many years, the head dojo was located in Vienna, where the school’s first Masters—brothers Isao and Nobuo Ichikawa—taught after arriving in Europe in the 1960s. Today, the Vienna dojo is known as the Kyu Honbu Dojo (former head dojo) and remains a vital meeting place and training center for both local residents and visiting members of our school.
